Graphic Design Final Blog

Final Blog

With the year ending this time its just remembering on my work and growth over the year. Overall starting from August and ending in May my work has grown and developed into more complex and interesting designs. One of my favorite projects has been my greeting cards. This project focused more on the calligraphy and writing types in letters. The picture here shows one of my two cards and to me I'm very proud of how well it turned out and hope it will make someone happy one day to give to them on a special occasion. The project itself took about a month to finish and was a struggle at sometimes. I got use to using the pen and curvature tool. Looking back and asking those around me for help and opinions I leaned I was really good at calligraphy and the splash of color added to the designs. I would maybe change how some letters look but overall I'm very proud of how it looks.

My second favorite project this semester would be the post cards and tickets for our fake concert. My band was Twenty-One Pilots and I was very happy with the end result of the tickets. For this project I learned how to use indesign and move things around and group clips together. Sometimes I came across the struggle of fitting some pictures or words to fit in the area and sometimes I would give up but later get back on track. Many of my peers thought the idea was simple and go tot the point and I agree in the end all I would change would be brightening up the picture and that's about it overall I'm very happy with this project.

Overall this year has been good for my projects but in the end I have never put s much time effort and dedication to a project as much as my vector graphic. To me this piece of art was so important and overall good I ended up submitting my piece to a show called eMagine. Even though I did't place top 5 I'm happy about the fact that I even submitted. I probably spent like 1 month working on it and I'm so proud of it. When I had asked my peers what they thought they loved it as well and I'm glad they did. In the ended some of my challenges with this project have been adding more detail that there is and making things fit and debating if I should change something and make it darker or lighter. In the end I'm happy with the outcome and feel proud of my work.

In class I would stay focused but occasionally I would get off task but I'm human I'm sorry. Sometimes I would finish projects before others and sometimes I would struggle to catch up. When I couldn't figure something out I would ask and if they didn't know I would research. When it came to turning in projects I would always ask for opinions and thoughts of what's good or what I should change or take away in the end my work never got turned in with out being looked at by others. Out side of class I had the opportunity to work on my projects and sometimes would I client work for those who would ask or needed to get something done.

These past two years of e-Comm have been weird but like the good wired. My skills as a graphics design artist have gotten stronger and my awareness with the tools have been  getting stronger and in the end helps me to achieve better quality work. I enjoy working with those around me who help me achieve my goals and help me grow stronger by giving me good criticism and hints to showing me what would work better for me or what is more useful.

Even though next year I'm not doing graphic design I know that when I do client work or personal work I will still be strong an I would still be doing the work I do now. Doing this will be more independent instead of more in a group which is exiting and I can't wait to experience how graphic design will be next year. I have seen that from two years ago to now my work is much stronger and of way better quality.

In the end graphic design is amazing and I'm so proud of my growth. The class is so amazing and I'm sad that this class won't be together next year. I always look forward to this class because of how close I've grown to my classmates and I can't wait to see how next year will be. Next year I hope to improve my goals in graphic design by doing more client work and achieving my dreams into making  a great amount of work. In conclusion I'm sad that its already over but exited for what next year hold.
