Logo Innovation

Logo Process

For our last project in graphic design we had to create our logo, the representative of our next 4 years in e-Comm. This started off wit learning what different shapes mean, and what the colors mean for example blue means security and reliability, spheres represent a universal representation. For me my logo started off with circles, arrows and straight lines. Looking back I knew it wasn't for me. My next logo I started was a a diamond and a line to the side of it to make my initials hide, after I went in with more details I knew it wasn't meant for me. My third logo design was h half sun with my last name Diaz under it. My fourth logo was in a was a more humble approach it was a full diamond and two half diamonds and like my previous logo with my last name under.  had a hard time choosing which logo I was going to go through because I had been stuck with the half sun and the diamonds. Then it hit me if I can't chose just one lets merge them together to make one I like, this was the beginning of the my logo.

Diaz Logo

For my logo had originally had though that I wanted the lily pad vibes but after I came in with more details I knew it just wasn't enough. I had asked my friends and family on there opinions they all said the same thing, "This isn't you, your extra this needs something more. This logo just seems simple Its nice I like it but its missing something." That was when it hit me. Instead of Just sticking with the lily pads how about I coming both the lily pad and the the half sun together. This was the beginning of a new idea. After looking at how everything works together I would only start to improve myself even more. Taking into concideration what all my family and friends said it did occur to me that the logo had a lack of deference. I didn't know what it was, so I added thing my family and friends know me for. My friends say something they can always tie to me is the amount of how much I draw 'hello'. So I went back and added the word hello to see how it would look but it just didn't fit, I tried adding my last name but still it just wasn't enough. I had finally realized what it was missing, the color black.

Final Design
My final design was the image seen to the right. To me it had enough pop and enough clean and cut lines for me. The process of coming to this logo was around three week. In here week the output of a minimum of probably 10 logos all the way to one was a big change. Then when I finally got my logo the part of picking colors was hard. In the pdf shown above I went through 12 different color patters before I could come to a choosing the end results. Looking back on these three week of Logo drafting, sketching, innovating, and finding what I really wanted was one of the most amazing things I could have ever done. Putting all I have learned form this quarter in graphic design was hard work paling off. This logo to me represents setting my own path and moving forward. The arrows represent the moving forward, The base line represents the firm base of trust and support. The shades of blue represent trust and support that one day my future clients can have with my company. The black stands for independents and stability.
